New Board Members Announced for NIC

Annapolis, Md. – The Board of Directors for the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing & Care Industry (NIC) has elected five new members to serve on the board, as announced today by the nonprofit organization. In addition, a new chair was appointed to head the Operator Advisory Board. Board officers for the 2008-09 term were also announced.
The five new board members are: John Moore, CEO, Atria Senior Living Group; Brad Razook, president and managing director, Cohen & Steers Capital Advisors; Curt Schaller, senior managing director, GE Healthcare Financial Services; William Sheriff, co-CEO, Brookdale Senior Living; and David Watkins, senior vice president, Heitman. They will replace others who are retiring off the board. In addition, Doug Spear, senior vice president and chief financial officer, Merrrill Gardens, will join the board as the newly appointed chair of the Operator Advisory Board.
The board officers for the 2008-09 term will be headed by Kathryn A. Sweeney, managing director, US Senior Housing, The GPT Group, who is continuing as board chair, andKevin J. McMeen, president-real estate, MidCap Financial, LLC, who will retain his position as vice chair. In addition, George V. Hager, Jr., chairman and CEO, Genesis HealthCare Corp., will remain secretary and Randal J. Richardson, president, Classic Residence by Hyatt, will continue as treasurer.
