Newt Gingrich and Larry Summers to provide opening keynote
Industry experts to offer insights to navigate the present and anticipate the future of the fast-changing marketplace for seniors housing and care
Popular NIC Talks series returns with provocative, all-star lineup
Annapolis, Md.—The 2017 National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC) Fall Conference, to be held in Chicago from September 26 to 28, will provide strategies for seniors housing operators and investors to navigate current market realities, from increased competition and ongoing construction, to labor challenges and uncertainty related to policy and regulatory changes.
Among the high-profile conference speakers are former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and former Secretary of the Treasury Lawrence Summers, who will provide the opening keynote debate on the Trump Administration’s policies on economic growth. Paul Irving, chairman of the Milken Institute Center for the Future of Aging, will give a luncheon address on the benefits and challenges of longer life expectancies across the globe.
“The NIC Fall Conference remains the must attend meeting of the year for leaders in the aging, real estate, housing, and healthcare sectors. This year’s conference promises to offer every attendee something they don’t already know about aging—be it emerging innovations in the healthcare delivery, or the drivers that will shape seniors housing and care in the years ahead,” said Brian Jurutka, president and CEO of NIC.
Returning for the Fall Conference is the highly anticipated NIC Talks series, featuring speakers from within and outside of the seniors housing industry, including anti-ageism activist Ashton Applewhite; well-respected population health expert David Nash; Hasbro executive Ted Fischer; Kim Campbell, widow of the late singer Glen Campbell, and Dan Buettner, NY Times best-selling author of the Blue Zones, who will discuss the implementation of his research for seniors housing and care design.
An additional conference highlight is a feature session on the future demand for Alzheimer’s care including Alzheimer’s Association Chief Science Officer Dr. Maria Carrillo and other experts discussing how current research findings on Alzheimer’s disease will likely impact future demand industrywide, and influence business strategies for care providers and investors.
The 2017 NIC Fall Conference will take place September 26-28 at the Sheraton Grand Chicago. To learn more, visit www.nicevent.org.
