NIC Academy Scholarships
The NIC Academy scholarships support individuals excelling academically or professionally in senior housing and care by removing financial barriers and empowering them to make a positive impact.
Goal:
Raise funds for 10 scholarships in 2025, for a total of $50,000.
About the Scholarships:
NIC Academy Scholarships provide financial assistance to students or professionals who self-identify as a member of an underrepresented community. This scholarship aims to support individuals who demonstrate academic and/or professional excellence and a commitment to making a positive impact on the senior housing and care industry. Through these scholarships, we seek to remove financial barriers to education and empower individuals to achieve their dreams.
Scholarships are available for NIC Academy programs including Boot Camps, Certificate Programs, and Special Topics Courses. You can learn more about these programs on the NIC Academy Website.
NIC Academy Scholarship Eligibility:
Self-identification as a member of at least one underrepresented community.
- Race/Ethnicity: Hispanic or Latino, American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African American, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern/North African (MENA), Multi-racial, or specified other
- Sexual Orientation: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, or specified other
- Disability: Physical Disability, Sensory Disability (e.g., visual or hearing impairment), Cognitive or Learning Disability, Mental Health Condition, Chronic Illness or Health Condition, or specified other
- Financial Need: Preference will be given to those from underrepresented communities with the greatest financial need. Household income will be verified as part of the application process.
Application Process
Submit an Application: Interested applicants must submit an online application to be considered.
Review Process: NIC’s DEI committee will carefully review all applications based on the eligibility criteria outlined for the scholarship.
Selection of Recipients: Recipients will be selected based on self-identification with a least one underrepresented community and preference will be given to those with the greatest financial need.
Notification: Successful applicants will be notified of their scholarship award by email.
