W. Aaron Conley is a real estate professional with over 25-years of experience in real estate investment, development, and capital advisory. His entire career focus has been on acquiring or creating purpose-built operationally sensitive spaces utilizing a variety of strategies.
Since 2020, Mr. Conley has overseen the acquisition and/or development of over 900 “Essential” and “Affordable” Housing Apartment units totaling over $130MM in project related financing. He also managed the planning of proposed Low-Income Housing Tax Credit projects for over 400 units with an estimated total project cost of $92MM.
Additionally, Mr. Conley also has significant senior housing experience specializing in the southeastern U.S. He has been responsible for assisting with projects both planned and/or developed that combined, total over 800 senior living units with combined total project costs exceeding $600MM.
Throughout his career Mr. Conley has worked in several real estate sectors including essential and affordable housing, senior housing, student housing, retail, single family residential, and office. His experience includes all facets of the project development and finance continuum. Past employers, clients, and partners include British Petroleum, Greystone, Well Tower, Enterprise Community Partners, Bloomingdales and Macys, Turner Construction, Bovis & Actus Lend Lease, Brambles Limited, Department of Navy and NAVFAC, Steven D. Bell and Company, Kane Realty Group, Drucker and Falk, The Scotts Miracle-Grow Company, and Retirement Living Associates.
Conley holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Cincinnati. He currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the Urban League of the Upstate. He is the Founding Chairman of the Essential Housing Foundation, an affordable housing and economic development non-profit. Mr. Conley is a Member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) where he is a past Chair of the Senior Housing Product Council and has held several other national and regional leadership positions within ULI.
