Andrew Smith

Andrew Smith has served in various operations, innovation, program management, and sales and marketing capacities throughout his more than 15 year career in the seniors housing and care industry. He is a volunteer on NIC’s AgeTech Focus Area Committee and is the former Chair of the NIC Future Leader’s Council. He has been awarded Argentum’s Leaders Under 40 and Best of the Best awards.
As Vice President of Operations and Innovation at HumanGood, Andrew supports operations for select Continuing Care Retirement Communities and leads the organization’s innovation efforts. As an experienced operator and licensed Nursing Home Administrator, Andrew is uniquely positioned to select and operationalize new technology and programmatic initiatives to materially impact HumanGood’s quality and financial results.
Andrew received his bachelors in science from Vanderbilt University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He also received his master’s degree in organizational behavior from Vanderbilt, inspiring his passion for helping large organizations find new ways to solve challenging problems. His training and experience as a project management professional (PMP) have helped him successfully lead complex, cross-functional initiatives in varying capacities.
Although a Tennessee native, Andrew lives in Pasadena, CA with his wife and three children where you can find him playing in the yard, doing yoga and reading. He is a board member of the Madison Heights Neighborhood Association and lead organizer of the annual Madison Heights Chili Cookoff, a competition he has not won four years running.
